This note illustrates moving data from a SHA800 to a PC using a LAN connection.

Like many Siglent instruments, the SHA800 has a built-in Web Server that offers users the ability to control the Spectrum Analyzer from a network location. This server also gives the user the opportunity to move data directly from the analyzer to a PC without the use of a USB stick. As the note shows, the technique involves storing a .CSV file on the analyzer and then moving the file to a PC

To connect the SHA800 to the PC, you’ll want to enter its IP address into the browser’s address bar.

The IP address can be found by

Press the System button at the lower right edge of the screen

Press the Utility button at the top of the screen

Press the Remote Control Icon: The IP address is in the middle of            the screen

When the IP address is entered into the browsers address bar, the home page of the web browser is displayed

Pressing the instrument panel shows a live picture of the analyzer

OPTIONAL When the Orange ScreenShot is pressed, a windows save dialog box is displayed and the image can be stored on the PC

To save the data as a .CSV file, a file is stored on the Analyzer’s local drive and then moved directly to the PC

Various Screen Options are available with a click at the top right corner

Select The File Screen

We want to save the file

Set the file Name and File Type

Click the OK button to store the file. When the screen returns select the file Browser

Finally see that the file has been stored

Now moving the data to the PC without a USB stick

This note shows using the ftp capability of a Windows Computer

Open windows explorer and enter an FTP command with the syntax

Clicking the area just above the Home indicator, explorer will create a blank where a ftp address can be entered

ftp://IP address can be entered

and the mass storge icon is displayed

Click on the mass_storage icon to see the .csv file

Now the file can be copied and pasted to the desired location
