Calibration and Adjustment

SIGLENT’s NIST Traceable with Data Calibration as well as our ISO17025 Accredited Calibrations follow a standard process:
• Instrument is shipped to Siglent service center
• Before data is taken at a certified test lab
• If before data is outside of specifications, then:
o Calibration Adjustment is done
o Post-data is taken at a certified test lab
• Instrument is returned to customer with data and appropriate certificate

SIGLENT’s in-house Calibration follows a simplified process:
• Instrument is shipped to Siglent service center
• Performance Verification is conducted
• If before data is outside of specifications, then:
     o Calibration Adjustment is done
     o Performance Verification is retested
o If specifications can not be met, then repair options will be discussed with customer
• Instrument is return shipped to customer with an equivalent to factory certificate

Siglent covers return shipment costs to the 48 contiguous US states as part of the process.
Customer is responsible for shipping instrument to our service center.

Calibration, Warranty service, and calibration margin
Standard calibration interval is 1 year for most products.
Standard warranty on instruments is typically 3 years.

A. Instruments that go out of calibration before the most recent calibration interval or the warranty has expired can be brought in for warranty service at no cost. This would involve either a calibration adjustment or repair.

     a. Performance A models (model numbers with A in the suffix) include a new NIST traceable certificate when returned to the customer. ISO17025 or NIST traceable calibrations with additional data can be purchased.

     b. For other products, they are guaranteed to be in specification but do not come with an updated certificate. Customer can purchase a new calibration to get an updated certificate.

     c. Warranty repairs are still warranted under the original warranty term of the instrument. If the repair is completed within 90 days of the warranty expiring, then the warranty is extended to 90 days beyond the service complete date.

B. Customers with instruments showing out of calibration after the most recent calibration certificate has expired should purchase a new calibration.

C. Once out of the warranty period, if an instrument is out of calibration, customer should purchase a calibration. If it cannot be brought into calibration, then customer should purchase calibration plus a repair.

NOTE: Instruments within the final 10% of the margin on a specification, but within the warranty period can send their instrument in for service as in A above.

NOTE: Once out of the warranty period, the customer should opt for C above and purchase a calibration as the entry point into service.
