The CP4020 probe can operate from a 9V adapter or battery. The probe is shipped for use with the AC adapter (shown below).
Using with a battery requires removing the battery cover and changing internal connections.
To remove the battery cover, loosen the captive screw that is located at the end of the lower handle (near the lead wire for the 9V adapter) by turning the screw CCW about 5 full turns. Pull the battery cover back about ½” to release it.
Disconnect the 9V battery snap connector and connect it to the 9V battery.
