It’s often important to know when measurements were recorded. To ensure accurate time information, these units are equipped with hardware and software to log into NTP (Network Time Protocol) servers. These Servers transmit highly accurate time signals and are often run by government agencies.

All the scope needs to connect to an NTP server is its IP Address

The key sequence

Utility >Menu>System Settings Date>Time

Displays the NTP interface

 When the Display Date/Time (lower Arrow) is checked, time is displayed in the scope’s lower right corner

SDS1000X-E



Newer firmware (6.1.37R2 July 26 2021) for the 4 channel versions of the SDS1000X-E scopes, includes an interface to NTP servers. The IP entry for an NTP Server can be accessed by pressing the Utility Key and

           Press Right button soft key twice to advance to Page 3/4

           Press the Date/Time soft key

           Press the NTP soft key and enter IP for desired NTP server

           Finally Press the Sync Soft key


With access to an NTP server, the 4 channel SDS1000X-E’s offer a long term “data-logging” capability. Information on this feature is                               located here
